Part of the foundation that Sidelines sits on is a piece of Millville’s history—the former Bridgeton-Millville Pike toll house, dating back to the 1840s. According to the files of the Millville historical society, the toll house was known to be the oldest house on West Main Street. Horse and Buggy’s riding along today's Route 49 had to pay a toll to travel between Bridgeton and Millville. In 1919, Cumberland County and the State Highway Commission acquired Bridgeton-Millville Pike and the tolls were dropped when the county engineer began making repairs to the road. The gate house was rebuilt at least twice before it was torn down in 1975 to become a parking lot for Kirby's Bar.  

I purchased Kirby’s Bar and changed the name to Sidelines Sports Bar & Grill. Sidelines has come a long way since the first day I opened the doors on May 4, 2005. Over the years, we’ve expanded and transformed the space, now featuring an outdoor patio with a full bar, TVs and plenty of seating for everyone. I am proud to be able to provide a fun, welcoming neighborhood sports bar for the people of Millville and surrounding towns.
